More More Couture!

Great news from Alter Ego Couture! Karolyn is adding 6 new lines to the fashion company in 2009!
BONDAGE WEAR
I will not be modeling this line. AEC needs someone edgy who looks like a vampire. ha ha We should find the chic with those teeth!

FORMAL GOWNS
Wedding gowns and red carpet gowns made of silk. Yes, John Savage is still very handsome!

LATEX
You won't have to work out, just go dancing in Latex. It worked for Catwoman!

READY TO WEAR 4 TEENS (designed by ME)
think goth mixed with cheerleader outfits. We want to make wearable clothing with an edge. Workout wear with studs in black and red. School girl skirts made out of nylon "basketball jersey" material. It's fun. It should do well here where every woman over 30 dresses like she's in high school. ha!

This is my one of my teen muses, Beth. Beth and Lourdes always come over with the cutest clothes. She modeled for me too and WOW! I felt terrible turning such a cute little button into a sexy diva.

WARRIOR FIGHTING ARMOR FOR GIRLS!
Look at this photo and mix it with... this! Think of the looks you'll get at the renn faire!
Yes you heard it right! These outfits can make your Zena fantasies come true, or go to comicon and chill. I'm sure I will be taking sword fighting lessons in the back when I wear mine.)

AND WESTERN WEAR
The below photo is for you Madre! I love this jacket. It's leather and spandex with hand prong set rhinestones. I could be in the Miss Rodeo contest. But then again, I'd have to stay ON the horse...
If you have any suggestions for us, now is the time! Let me know what you want fashion wise that you can't find!
Back to work.
Love you all.
Malena

I'm not sure of the lauch date. Right now, we are working on the website. Next month I have a LOT of samples coming so I will be busy modeling them. That will be fun. David always makes me look so good. A little boy in my neighborhood saw my postcards as I was getting ready to go out. I said,
"See, this is what Model Malena looks like." as I put on my makeup.
He said,
"Wow. looks like you've got a lot of work to do. Good luck."
H haaaaaaaaa! He saved himself by saying I looked younger without all that "red and black stuff" on my face. It was so cute!

Yes Dan, you're right. All the moods of Malena. I can't wait to model the red carpet gowns and the warrior gear. My 2 favorite things. Talk about a Gemini huh?

[one more time, without the grammatical error.]

Ahh, that many looks of Malena. Now they can be yours!

I could use the fangs right now...

ravyn said...

How about a little goth-steampunk fusion ;-)

spacedlaw said...

Like corsets with brass rivets?

FabulousLorraine said...

I'm with Rayvn and Spacelaw, tho the lines look lovely. Like the leather western wear. Corsets with brass rivets, sign me the heck up.

I think you should find the chick with the funky fangs. And stake her!

(Malena knows how I feel about Those teeth. hee-hee.)

examples of steam punk please! put links up or send them to my email.

I'm on the brass rivets! I love black and aged gold.

I am new to Steampunkery but I think it is pretty cool.

Here is some basic Steampunk info

Lisa's poppets have been on a steampunk kick lately and Algernon's Poppet is a good example.

and Whether Balloon Lost
these too
this one too.. sort of... I could be wrong... but I still think it is cute either way

Rubius said...

I meant have this link to Algernon's Poppet

I am such a huge geek, I feel the need to say it is Xena, not Zena.

Some nice examples of steampunkery (dunno if it's a word but I'm using it;))

Sorry I'm not savvy enough to figure out the link thing, but I hope that helps.

(psst, Lorraine, those particular fangs freak me out a little too;)

Wow, we should form a fashion forum! Thanks everyone. That's a big help. And Glen, thank you for the Xena comment. Fablo is a very educated fan of her. I was so busy being jealous I wasn't Xena I didn't watch it as much as she did. ha haa

WOW How did I miss the wave of Steampunk? Ravyn introduced me to it. I didn't even know what it was. I need to get out more. (I am so kidding) I am loving staying in and doing drawings for a few days.

Kitty comes home today to get her car. I can't wait to see her and will be sure to take photos. I Love you all!

You shall be my test audience. Just like I send out little gifts of potions and lotions to everyone on the fan list, you'll see the fashions first and can tell me if you like them. NOW I understand.

I think Kitty has a few of those little gears...
This is so cool. Thanks Rubius and Kali

Send our love to Kitty!

Yes wish Kitty a happy homecoming:)

wow i've been so buried in work i forgot i even posted!

i'm doing this backwards but oh well. steampunk-y kilt - i like the construction here, d-rings, rivets and buckles. Stuff strapped on every which way kinda.

hoop skirt plus - i love how the hoop shows and is riveted together with leather straps. Also, love the bolero-style jacket (i want to make a bolero bomber with some shearling skins i have), long leather fingerless gloves and the awesome "belt" corset.

equestian/military style belts i love love love the halter belt!

Skin Graft Designs - have a napkin ready to wipe up drool when you view this site, LOL. Under "Gallery" and "Delicates", a couple of clicks to the right side, is an outfit in dark gray/blue and rabbit fur.... i love the strappiness and laces everywhere. Every airship sailor needs one! It's probably not technically steampunk, but definitely a fusion of things. And oh so cool!

i follow the Steamfashion LiveJournal community, there are tons of creative people posting there, lots of great costume ideas, tutorials, hints, and information on the style.

Uh, yeah i'm pretty far down the steampunk rabbit hole :-D

I am designing my first Steampunk outfit tonight! Now if only I could draw! I can do a lot of things but drawing is not one of them. But like that's ever stopped THIS fashion addict.

Keep your ideas coming. I want to design what YOU want to buy. Look out Hot Topic! I wish Torrid would go edgy again, right girls? And there should be a store that goes from 0 to 28. Don't you think? I'm going to try and do that someday...have a store where EVERYONE can find something that fits them.

How do you feel about Mini skirts?

spacedlaw said...

Eeeeek (that's about the mini skirts): Anything shorter than ankle length I am not comfortable in.

ravyn said...

i made myself a pleated plaid mini skirt this spring, but it's just a couple of inches above the knee. i'll get a photo of me wearing it. i like mini skirts over tights or leggings.

The skirt i made, i wore over stockings i made from black tights with neon green fishnets overtop them. And my steampunkie boots and a black tank top that reads "Evil keeps me young" in white across the front :-). Wore that ensemble my last day in FL visiting Ms. Vanda :-D

Malena said...

I'm a long skirt person myself. But I do like the idea of short skirts with tights. When I dance I wear dance tights with fishnets over them for a perfect smooth look.

Ravyn! Great idea with the neon babe. Photos! I need photos. I think Paul of "Paul and Lorraine" has a T-shirt similar.
